Two years ago, I went to the Christian festival Wildfires in a work capacity – I was on the stand of Open Doors, the charity I work for. If someone had said to me that, the next time I would be there, it’d be as one of the event’s official photographers, I’d have laughed and said “If only!” But that’s exactly what happened. I received an email with volunteer roles, one of which was in the media team, and I thought I’d go for it. Thankfully, I was accepted and it was a wonderful experience. Whilst I have done some event photography before, it’s never been on the scale this involved, so I was very much out of the proverbial comfort zone, both technically and creatively. But I’m thrilled with the broad range of snaps I took, and I’ve received some lovely feedback. Here are a selection of the photos, taken mostly with the Fujifilm x-T5 with the occasional few with the Fujifilm x100f.
